Privacy Policy

Profile Reader (“we”, “us”) is an educational product operated by Gareth Green in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). This page explains what we collect on our waitlist, why, and your choices.

What we collect

• Your email address (required to join the waitlist).
• Your experience level, if you choose to share it.
• A record of your consent: that you ticked the consent box, the wording you agreed to, and the date and time.
• Your approximate country, worked out by our hosting provider from your connection. We do not store your IP address.

We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.

Why we use it

Only to email you about the Profile Reader launch and new lessons, to understand roughly who the course is for (experience level, country), and to keep proof of your consent as CASL requires. We will not use it for anything else without asking you first.

Consent and unsubscribing

We only email you if you have given express consent by ticking the box on our sign-up form. You can withdraw consent at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to [email protected]. We act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

Where it is stored and who can see it

The waitlist is stored in a database run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., and we may use an email-delivery service to send updates. These providers process data for us under contract and may store it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. Only the Profile Reader team can access the list.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you are on the waitlist. If you unsubscribe, we delete your email address, except for a minimal record that you opted out so we never email you again. If Profile Reader does not launch, we will delete the list.

Safeguards

Access is limited to the people who need it and is protected by strong authentication. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, by emailing [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Age

Profile Reader is intended for adults (18+). Please don’t sign up if you are under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and we will ask for your consent again before using your information in a new way.
